Associazione Sportiva Nautica Onegliese
Via del Collegio, 4
18100 IMPERIA (IM)
It all started with a simple idea fueled by a deep passion. A small group of friends and acquaintances, passionate about fishing and recreation, has decided to create our Association, bringing together other amateur fishermen and sea enthusiasts, in order to manage the moorings for small and medium-sized vessels already present in the port of Imperia Oneglia but which up to that time were administered in a disorganized way. Their intention was also to be able to transmit their passion to those who decided to approach our places and our sea.
Our Association was founded on 7 February 1980 and is apolitical and non-profit. Its primary and fundamental aims are the practice, development and dissemination of amateur sports activities, pleasure boating (particularly minor) and sea fishing. Of course all this is also aimed at the psycho-physical, moral and cultural training of its members, as well as to promote, more generally, love for the sea in all its aspects.
These aims are pursued mainly through recreational activities, aimed at social training, with a healthy use of leisure time, including the organization of competitions, events of various kinds, both sports and promotional.
The original quay was made up of a series of boulders, already present on the site and which served as rudimentary protection, inside the port, of the breakwater of the east, on which a small cast of concrete had been thrown to improve it, The accessibility of members, albeit a little. The moorings were arranged parallel to this banchinamento (of irregular shape and that in some points barely reached the meter of width) and were accessible by small "barchini", which moved from one with a cumbersome pulley system and which easily overturned, thus discharging into the sea their contents both of various equipment and people.

In 2010, after many peripecies and reflections, the Association was able to obtain the authorization to build a new banchinamento, built partly on the previous and partly cantilevered, higher than sea level. With a regular shape and equipped with light and water columns, the pier, finished in helicopter concrete, is now about 4 meters wide. A series of bollards, placed along the edge towards the sea, delimit the berths, which have now been arranged vertically with respect to the same, and facilitate the mooring of boats. Two streetlights then illuminate the area during the night, thus increasing the safety of both people, who often go fishing early in the morning, and means.

Only in 2015, however, was it possible to obtain the permission to delimit the mooring quay, so as to prevent (or at least make it more difficult) access to outsiders, thus further improving the safety of boats and places.
Also to optimize the general security of the members, four cameras were installed later, connected with a wi.fi. system, which allow the members, from any place, to be able to observe comfortably the mooring and, in case of problems, to be able to review the recordings.
A similar improvement has also affected our headquarters, which was originally located in a small prefab, built on the roof area of an underground warehouse, located between the buildings at the root of the pier (long pier) of the Oneglia port basin, near the berths for small professional fishermen (tremagliari). This site, quite small in size, was then "enlarged" also acquiring a space of the nearby state building, which became the main headquarters, while the old "box" was used as storage.
The contingency situation and the intention of the Municipality of Imperia to reorder the uses and destinations of state property (areas and buildings) in the area, has forced the Association to find a new location, but always located near the port basin.
The current venue, larger than previous ones and also able to host members for the usual annual meeting, is located in via del Collegio at no.4.
